Alden Ravello Shell Cordovan V-Tip Bluchers
It is interesting how we can have a change of heart. Initially, I didn’t like the V-Tip design. I thought that it looked awkward from photos that I saw online. And then, one day, I got an offer to get a pair of V-Tip Boots in Ravello Shell Cordovan and I decided to give it a shot. When they arrived, I immediately had a change of heart. The attention to detail in this design immediately became apparent to me, and the simplicity and yet sophistication of the design jumped out to me. I initially thought that it was a compromised Norwegian Split Toe, but I realized that it is actually a complicated construction technique tying together multiple pieces of Shell using different approaches between the toe-split and the apron. It really is a cool design that is definitely under utilized across the Alden retailer base. After the Boots, I quickly picked up a V-Tip Boot in Chocolate Suede and now I have added my first V-Tip Blucher, of course in my favorite shade, Ravello.
Ravello is a magnificent city on the Amalfi Coast of Italy, just south of Naples. It is known for its truly breathtaking views of one of the magical places on earth. This shade of Shell Cordovan lives up to this historical, magical place. It is a rich medium Brown shade with magnificent undertones of Red, creating a truly exquisite experience.
These V-Tip Bluchers are made out of the rare Ravello Shell Cordovan. The rich Ravello is paired with Alden’s famous Antique Edging that adorn a Single Leather Outsole. The sole is attached to the shoe with a 270 degree flat welt, creating a sophisticated, clean, formal aesthetic. These bluchers were shaped around Alden’s forgiving Barrie Last and feature 6-Eyelets, again making them more clean and formal looking. Overall, these Bluchers will set the standard for all V-Tip Bluchers for years to come!
