Cigar “Dress” Cap Toe Boot

Alden’s Cigar’s Cap Toe Boot from Alden of Washington D.C. is one of the absolutely quintessential Alden special models, in fact, it made my Essential 3 Exotics Edition recommendations. So, why or how would I have another Cigar Cap Toe Boot? Well, to be honest, when I first heard that a new Cigar Cap Toe Boot had landed, I really wasn’t too excited. I mean, I already had a pair, but when I saw a picture of them, I knew that they were a perfect edition to my collection.

So what changed my opinion on them? Well, to be honest, I would say that there were three key things about the boots that changed my mind. First, these boots are made on Alden’s absolutely amazing Plaza Last. This changes the formality level of the boot up a notch. Second, to match the formality of the Plaza Last, these boots were equipped with the rarely seen on Cigar, Mahogany Edges. The darker edges are a rare and actually nice twist upon the Cigar Shell Cordovan shade. Finally, was the execution. The shade of Cigar Shell Cordovan that came on these boots was just a phenomenal shade, something that hasn’t been seen quite as much in the past 5 years. Based upon those three factors, I had no choice but to pull the trigger.
