Alden Cigar Semi-Brogue Boots
I am not sure if I can do these Cigar Boots justice, but I am going to try. These Boots have a bit of mystery surrounding them as they were made for some retailer, thought to be in Europe or Asia, who didn’t take or receive them for some reason. They ended up arriving randomly at Alden of Washington D.C. on one random day and a few days later, a pair was in San Diego.
I actually ended up wearing that pair once and then selling them, as the fit wasn’t good (was sized 10E). However, through a random series of events, my friend picked up a pair in 10.5E that was mis-lasted and is actually more akin to a 10.5C. So, now I have a pair again!
These beautiful Boots were perfectly designed (by somebody) and features the classic semi-brogue styling in boot form. They were made around Alden’s Aberdeen Last, for a nice clean shape. They have a flat welt that goes around the entire Boot and Double Leather outsoles for a nice and clean look. They have painted exposed eyelets and matching speed hooks on top for easy on-off access.
Besides the design, which is perfection, the best part of these Boots is the vintage color of Cigar Shell Cordovan that they sport. This vintage Cigar has a nice medium-dark Brown shade with a splendid olive undertone. It combines so nicely with the pattern to make an unstoppable Boot.
